Abstract:
      This paper presents a new symmetric coupling approach of BEM and FEM of elastic and elasto-plastic problems. Based on the sub-region generalized variational principle, the solving equations of the problem are derived directly. The validity of the proposed method is demonstrated by typical examples. In comparison with the super-element method, the new approach has the advantages of being more straight in the theory and more economical in computation.
